This year Calvary Refuge was given the opportunity to honor two of our most outstanding volunteers at the United Way Volunteer Recognition Ceremony earlier this year.

Mrs. Annie S. Bell

Mrs. Bell came to us one year ago to volunteer one day per week. One year later she is with us Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. As men, women and children enter the homeless shelter she is there to welcome each of them. She also answers phones and keeps the office running smooth. She serves with a servant's heart, sharing love and kindness with those she meets each week. Our board of Directors and Staff appreciate her dedication to helping other and the many hours she serves.

Ms. Donna Kersey

Donna's interest in Calvary began one year ago with a resident in whom she took a special interest. She began helping one resident and now has helped many leave the shelter to find a home. Donna can be seen traveling down the road to deliver food, making pick up's for Calvary or working on the property. When on the property she works in the office, helps coordinate community service workers and assist the staff. It is Donna's love for the Lord that keeps her coming to serve at Calvary each weekend. Our board of Directors and staff appreciate the spirit in which she serves the homeless and the many hours she has given.
