For their fall community service project the BETA Club sponsored a Fall Dance. The dance raised money for the Calvary Refuge Center. The center provides transitional housing and emergency shelter for the homeless. The center is located in Forest Park, Georgia and is always looking for volunteers to offer financial or hands-on-assistance. Please visit their website at www.calvaryrefuge.org for more information. Each grade level donated snacks, candy, and drinks to sell at the dance. Teachers sold popcorn and hot dogs. All of the proceeds went to the Calvary Refuge Center. Parents, students, and teachers enjoyed an evening of dancing and socializing. With the guidance of Shaun Price and Latonya Paige, Natasha Banks, the BETA Club sponsors, and the hard work of Cindy Brictson, principal, and Janice Sills, assistant principal, the dance was a huge success. The enthusiastic contributions from teachers and parent volunteers ensured an evening of fun and support for a good cause. The students raised $500 for the center. This was a great way to begin the season of giving. |
